In memory of Professor Stephen McMahon

We are heartbroken. It’s so hard and incredulous to write about Steve in the past tense.

We have lost a mentor, an outstanding educator as well as an exceptional researcher, but most importantly we have lost a great friend. Stephen B. McMahon (1954-2021) was a giant in the field of pain research. He continuously inspired and challenged researchers to understand pain in the broadest and unconventional ways possible.

We express our sincere sympathy to all at Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases in central London. He will be truly missed.

We will meet again at the other side of the rainbow Mac!
