Meet Kuba: first international conference and first success

Since October, Kuba is a neuroscience student at the Jagiellonian University. He’s also a new PainLab member, preparing master thesis under Katarzyna’s supervision.Kuba’s research interests focus on the nervous system functionality, thus the 5th International Conference “Aspects of Neuroscience” was an interesting scientific event and a great opportunity to present a poster with the results of our group’s work.  The conference was held in Warsaw between 27th and 29th November 2015 and it was organized by members of the Neurobiology Students’ Scientific Club of University of Warsaw.

This conference was devoted to 4 main themes: Neurobiology, Computational Neuroscience, Clinical Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroscience. We are very excited that Kuba’s poster titled „Evaluation of neuropathic pain component in the animals model of osteoarthritis” andpresented in Clinical Neuroscience panel was awarded by the scientific committee as the best experimental poster presentation!

As the program was pretty tied up with the fascinating lectures, there wasn’t a lot of time for Kuba to look over the capital of Poland. He managed to take only a short walk around the Old Town during Sunday morning on his way to the conference venue. Luckily he made it through the very few sunny hours of the weekend!

We kindly acknowledge Aspects of Neuroscience and Julek Baranski who generously provided conference logo and post’s cover photo.
