ETIUDA ranking list announced: London calling!

List of winners of third edition of ETIUDA – competition for the doctoral scholarship has been announced. We proudly present that Natalia is ON THE TOP in Life Science panel.

In December 2014 the National  Science Center (www.ncn.gov.pl) opened the call for ETIUDA 3. The program is dedicated to people starting their scientific careers who do not hold a  doctoral degree yet, but already demonstrate success in their current research activities. National Science Centre offers them short term grants for a research stay in leading and highly ranked scientific institutions and covers applicants’ stipend, living abroad and travel expenses.

On June 22 full ranking lists were published and we are extremely proud and happy to communicate that Natalia, who has completed the second year of her PhD program is one of the ETIUDA recipients. All 280 submitted projects for the total budget of 23,2 mln PLN were evaluated in a two-step recruitment process including substantive assessment of the application and interview with the board of expert examiners. Natalia was one of 93 persons who have successfully passed through both of them.

Since October 2011 Natalia has been involved in research describing role of endocannabinoid and endovanilloid systems under chronic pain conditions. Her thesis project focuses on the analgesic properties of compounds acting with abovementioned systems. The results of her studies were presented at many conferences on an international scale, and published in scientific journals..Natalia acceded to EDIUTA competition proposing a project entitled “The importance of the interaction between endocannabinoid and endovaniloid systems in the treatment of chronic pain – therapeutic potential of hybrid compounds. Thanks to ETIUDA scholarship she will expand her scientific journey in Professor Steve McMahon’s lab at King’s College London.
